Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction, meaning most clients experience up to 80-90% permanent reduction in treated areas. Hormonal changes or new follicle growth can occur over time, which is why occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended to keep your skin consistently smooth.

How to Prepare for Your Treatment

To ensure your results are safe, effective, and beautifully consistent

  • Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams 6 weeks beforehand
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning products (self-tanners or spray tans) for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Let your provider know about any recent antibiotics, sunburns, or skin sensitivities before treatment.

After Care

Post-Treatment Care

Your skin deserves a little extra love after each session. To protect and prolong your results:

  • Avoid heat exposure (hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, intense workouts) for 24-48 hours.
  • Skip sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 weeks; always apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily.
  • Do not wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams between session shaving only.
  • Use gentle skincare on treated areas; avoid exfoliants, retinoids, or acids for 3-5 days.
  • Redness or mild warmth is normal and temporary-soothing gels like aloe vera or a cool compress may help.
  • If slight shedding occurs, that’s the treated hair releasing naturally let it fall away on its own.

Laser hair removal works by targeting hair in its active growth phase- and because every follicle grows at a different rate, multiple sessions are needed to achieve lasting results. At Prestige Beauty Lounge, we believe in providing treatments that actually work, not one-off sessions that offer temporary or inconsistent results.

That’s why our laser services are sold exclusively in packages of 3, 6, 9, or 12 sessions. This approach ensures you see real, measurable progress and makes your investment worthwhile. During your first appointment, we’ll complete a thorough consultation, assess your skin and hair type, and design a treatment plan tailored just for you – so you can enjoy smooth, confident results safely and effectively.
